In this seminar, you will learn how mindfulness practices can support lifestyle change and better manage stress. Learn the power of being in the present moment. You will learn practical ways to implement mindfulness into the DPP curriculum. This seminar will not only introduce the theory of mindfulness but will be experiential. Mindfulness scripts and audio practices will be provided.
Course Objectives
Build an empathetic relationship with participants and help participants develop an empathetic relationship with themselves and their weight.

- Define mindfulness and its relationship to lifestyle change
- Explain the history and evidenced-based studies of mindfulness
- Explain how mindfulness supports stress management
- Introduce three mindfulness practices: Grounding, Body Scan, and S.T.O.P. (Stop, Take a Breath, Observe, and Proceed)
- Learn mindfulness practices to help you step out of automatic pilot and back into the present moment.
- Learn essential mindfulness skills to increase self-awareness and help manage anxiety.
